The Last Maiden Voyager?
Published 16 December 2021
I’ve just had the great pleasure of presenting Heather Beagley with a copy of my new RMS Queen Mary book. Now just a few weeks off her 100th birthday, Heather travelled aboard the ship on the maiden voyage in 1936. Heather is believed to be the last living passenger to have made the round trip to New York. I first met this lovely lady when I interviewed her at Southampton Docks for a BBC film about Queen Mary, back in 2006! My absolute privilege!

A new and updated version of Queen Mary – 101 Questions & Answers – on its way!
Published 08 October 2021
Very exciting landmark moment… earlier in the year Bloomsbury Publishing asked me to update one of my books about vintage liner RMS Queen Mary for republication and have kindly sent proofs. It’s at the printers as I type and will be launched on 11th November!! Queen Mary is in retirement at Long Beach, California and this year marks the 85th anniversary of her maiden voyage to New York in 1936. She’s the very last 1930s ‘superliner’ left anywhere in the world – a real privilege to be working on this project.
